Baby Shower Weekend!

This weekend was very eventful and very exciting! Cameron and I have had a nice and relaxing week. We didn't have a whole lot of plans until this weekend. Friday morning we got up with a lot of energy and ran a few errands to prepare for my baby shower the next day. We got home and didn't have any plans for the rest of the day, so I decided I was going to touch up my highlights. While I was doing that, Cameron said he was going to meet up with a friend to go look at guns at a pawn shop. I get done with my highlights and I finish blow drying my hair and Cameron came home and said we had gotten a package. I was waiting for him to bring it inside, but he said that I had to go outside to see it, so I was thinking it was a really big package and was confused as to what it could be. I go outside, and didn't even notice that Cameron was recording. He told me the package was behind me and it was MY MOM!!! My parents had booked a ticket for my mom to come down for my baby shower!!! It was the best surprise ever!!! I instantly collapsed and started crying!
We decided to go out to eat that night at Andolini's for some yummy pizza.

Saturday was my baby shower! It was so much fun! We had a good turn out and I absolutely loved the decorations! My visiting teacher made a cute cake that was chocolate flavor, and decorated with blue icing, Waylon's name and sports gear :) We played a few games and I ended up winning one of them! We did a baby facts game, unscramble the words in a certain amount of time (which I won), and a word search in less than a minute. We got such cute and fun stuff for Waylon :) But what made my shower really amazing was that my mom got to be there. I was not expecting any family to be there, so it was very special to have my mom there.

After the shower we went to the beach! It was a lot of fun, but it was very windy. So we hung out there for a couple hours then we took my mom to Tattooed Moose for some yummy Duck Club sandwiches :) The rest of the night we relaxed at home cause we were pretty worn out from the day.

Sunday was a bittersweet day. We went to a couple stores to look at some baby stuff with my mom and ended up getting a high chair, a play center and a grooming kit for a smoking deal at Once Upon A Child. Then we took my mom to lunch and headed to the airport :( We weren't allowed to go through security with her, so we waited with her until she got through security and headed to her gate. This weekend was much needed, but it went by way too fast! I wish she could have stayed longer but her and my dad will be back when Waylon is born in 8 1/2 weeks or less! :)

Today is Memorial Day so Cameron and I decided to go get a few more baby things. We went to Target and got a car seat, a stroller and a couple baskets to store some of Waylon's stuff. After that we decided to go see the Avengers to celebrate our anniversary, which is in 2 days! :)

Cameron's Power School Graduation

This was a very exciting weekend for us! Thursday night/ Friday morning Cameron's parents flew in! Our first guests in South Carolina! We picked them up from the airport and took them to Cookout to get them something to eat. They loved it so much that we ended up going there everyday that they were here! (not kidding! haha)

Friday was Cameron's Power School graduation! It was a really nice day, a little on the warm side, but a great day nonetheless. The graduation ceremony was beautiful and there were just over 450 people graduating that day. Out of all those people, Cameron was one of 15 people to receive an award for Personal Excellence. None of us, including Cameron, knew he was getting the award until the called him to the stage. He was nominated by his Section Leading Petty Officer, which makes it even better that someone else recognized Cameron's hard work and his drive to keep improving. I'm so proud of all the work he has put into his schooling, and to see how much he loves what he's doing. Great job babe!

After the graduation we headed to Patriots Point to tour a couple submarines and an aircraft carrier. Ron and Jana had a lot of fun walking around the aircraft carrier. Cameron was able to take them to the engine room and show them what he'd be working on down there. He'll be on a sub, but it's still cool to see him applying what he's learned. I was not able to go look at everything with them. Being 30 weeks pregnant now, I don't have the energy and stamina I used to, and there are some tight spaces on the subs and aircraft carriers. So I hung out in the hanger while Cameron took his parents down below. On our way home we stopped by Cookout for a shake to help us cool off :)

Saturday we spent a good portion of the day at the beach and it was so much fun! We met up with a couple of Cameron's classmates, ate food, played in the water, looked for shells, dug a trench and played our own version of volleyball without a net :) It was nice to be out there with our friends and family relaxing. We all were pretty sunburned after that, so we treated ourselves to a Cookout shake :)

Sunday we took Ron and Jana to go see Charlie the Alligator. He lives here on base and Cameron had heard about him, so we stopped by on our way out. We only noticed the small gators at first, but then we got Charlie to come out and boy is he a big gator! Cameron and Ron were tossing sticks inside the fence and got the small gators to get really close to us, it was really cool! I was very happy that I finally got to see a South Carolina gator after living here almost a year!
After that we went to Downtown Charleston. They have some really pretty historical buildings, parks and ocean scenery. We went out onto a pier to see some boats coming in and out, then walked through a park. There is a popular area called market street and it's a strip in the middle of downtown Charleston that's filled with vendors. So we walked up and down that looking at all the unique things people were selling, and once again, my pregnant body called it quits, so we headed home, but of course got a Cookout shake on the way home :)

It was a great weekend and I'm so happy that Ron and Jana were able to come out here and spend this time with us and to celebrate Cameron! :)

Happy Birthday to US!

Yesterday was Cameron and I's birthday!! Cameron turned 26 and I turned 24. I've always loved celebrating my birthday. Most people don't want others to know when their birthday is cause they don't want the attention of balloons and all that, but I LOVE IT! I want everyone to know when my birthday is. I want balloons and cupcakes/cake, parties, streamers, confetti and getting dolled up extra cute. I love parties and celebration so my birthday's (no matter how simple) were always a big deal to me.

So when I met Cameron and we found out that we had the same birthday we were so excited and honestly didn't believe each other at first haha. But it has been so fun to celebrate a birthday with him! Cameron always makes our birthday so fun!

I got Cameron 2 shirts from Under Armour, a range finder and a meat injector. We've been working on puzzles lately and we have some 2D Disney Princess ones that are painted by Thomas Kinkade, and Cameron secretly found an Aladdin one and gave that to me for my birthday, as well as a picture of Christ and the First Presidency to hang in our home (which I've been wanting for a while).

Since we were celebrating our birthday in South Carolina, we decided that we'd spend most of the afternoon and evening in Myrtle Beach. It was so much fun! First we went goofy golfing and we played 2 different rounds of 18- holes and of course Cameron won both, but I only lost the 2nd game by two points. After that we went to the beach. We brought our swimsuits but the water was really cold so we just walked down the beach and put our feet in. Which felt great on my hot swollen feet! Lastly, we went to Medieval Times were you get to watch a jousting and sword fighting show while they serve you a meal. It was a lot of fun and I'm grateful Cameron and I were able to go do that for our birthday.

It's crazy to think that this is our last birthday with just us two. I'm 28 weeks today and have officially started the 3rd trimester! Our little Waylon will be here before we know it! :)
Here are some pictures from our day today :)
